FREE Allstate 1-Year Protection Plan! Released in 1976, Akai's. Was a welcome departure from their previous. It also has a 1/4 Headphone jack, buttons for High & Low F.

Audio Mute, Stereo/Mono and a Loudness button that contours the sound perfectly for low level listening. Remember, these are what audiophiles call "Vintage Watts, " from an era where, unlike today, it was a sin to manipulate or elaborate the power ratings! The rear panel has two speaker zones, stereo inputs for Tuner & Aux, two Tape Loops, one with the REC/PLAY DIN jack found in the higher end offerings of the era, and a stereo. Phono input with grounding post for your turntable. It also has three AC outlets, two switched and one unswitched.

Aside from a few minor scratches to the lid, the only other thing worth mentioning is a few light front panel scuffs. Too faint to be seen well in the pics.

On inspection, this unit worked great, just some scratchy or. Controls, so it went to our tech for service.

Ll switches & pots were cleaned internally with Specialist Contact Cleaner (proven superior to DeoxIT by our customers), while those with special needs receive the less aggressive DeoxIT F-5. While open, all electrolytic caps were inspected for bulging or leakage and all PC boards were inspected with all questionable solder joints re-flowed. We set this up on our test bench and it passed with flying colors! It powered right up, pumping out a clear, distortion-free audio from both channels with no hum or buzz!

All controls were confirmed operational with no noise and all inputs and outputs have been confirmed working. What a great way to save on a quality piece of equipment! Power output: 40 watts per channel into 8? Frequency response: 20Hz to 20kHz. Total harmonic distortion: 0.15%.
