Yamaha B2 VFET DC Power Amplifier Pro Restored Very Rare Awesome Sound

  
VFET amplifiers have to be heard to be believed. They were around for a brief period from the mid 1970's until 1980. Because of the high cost of production VFET's are no longer made, replaced by cheaper MOSFET and SIT transistors. This B2 is a freaking amazing beast. They were not readily available in North America if I understand correctly. The Yamaha B power amplifiers were the first power amplifiers in history to use separate L/R power transformers, and they used two matched image VFET transistors per channel. This amp has been prefessionally restored by our tech with the chassis, pots, inputs, and switches having been cleaned. The VFET's were tested and reseated.

Any out of spec capacitors, transistors, resistors, and diodes were replaced. BIAS and offset were set to factory specs.
